The former New England Patriot wide receiver Antonio Brown was accused of rape on September 10th by his former trainer.

Brown is accused of sexually assaulting his former trainer Britney Taylor, 28, twice in June 2017 and once in May 2018. In 2017, Brown had hired gymnast Brittney Taylor to be his personal trainer. The two had known each other from attending Central Michigan University together. According to allegations, In June, Taylor had flown out to Brown’s home in Pittsburgh for a training trip and failed to book a hotel. Brown reportedly told her she could stay there and while she was getting ready he walked into the bathroom nude. Taylor attempted to exit the room but Brown allegedly grabbed and kissed her without her consent.

According to Brown’s attorney, Darren Heitner, Brown is denying all allegations made. Heitner has also stated that Taylor reached out to Brown in 2017 to solicit the wide receiver for a $1.6 million “investment” in a business project and cut off contact with him after Brown refused. The lawyer also claims that Taylor reached out to Brown again in 2018 and offered to train him for the upcoming season.

According to allegations, In May 2018, while they were training down in Miami, Brown raped her after a night out with friends at a club in Miami. She allegedly drove Brown and another football player back to Brown’s house for the evening and went to use the restroom when the assault allegedly occurred.

Taylor said during a statement that she found strength in “my faith, my family, and from the accounts of other survivors of sexual assault. Speaking out removes the shame that I have felt for the past year and places it on the person responsible for my rape."

The NFL had a meeting with Taylor on September 16th and it was a 10 hour interview. The NFL has yet to release any statements from the meeting to the public. As of now Antonio Brown has not been charged with rape nor has been penalized by the NFL.
